Longtime Partner of Clint Eastwood, Christina Sandera Dies at 61
While Clint Eastwood has built a legendary film career both in front of and behind the camera, he tends to shield his personal life from the spotlight.
This included keeping details of his relationship with Christina Sandera, who passed away July 18, private. Still, the Oscar winner provided a glimpse into the bond they shared in a tribute to his late partner.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman,” Eastwood told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement July 19, “and I will miss her very much.”
Sandera died of a heart attack at the age of 61, a representative from the Monterey County Health Department in California told the New York Post. According to the outlet, the philanthropist’s death certificate listed her immediate cause of death as cardiac arrhythmia and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease as an additional factor.
Eastwood, 94, and Sandera first sparked romance rumors in 2014 and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2015 Oscars.

Though they stayed tight-lipped on their connection, the two went on to make several other public appearances together over the years, including at the premieres of his 2016 film Sully and 2018 movie The Mule, where she posed alongside his children.

Eastwood is father to kids Laurie Murray, 70 (whom he didn’t meet until she was in her 30s); Kimber Eastwood, 60, from his relationship with Roxanne Tunis; Kyle Eastwood, 56, and Alison Eastwood, 52, from his first marriage to Maggie Johnson; Scott Eastwood, 38, and Kathryn Eastwood, 36, from his relationship with Jacelyn Reeves; Francesca Eastwood, 30, from his relationship with Frances Fisher; and Morgan Eastwood, 27, from his marriage to his second wife Dina Eastwood.
And after Sandera’s passing, Morgan took a moment to honor her.
“A devastating loss for our whole family,” she wrote on Instagram Stories, per a screenshot shared by the New York Post. “Thank you Christina for being a good partner to my Dad. You will be greatly missed.”
